چکیده
Carbon nanostructures-silica aerogel composites were synthesized and characterized to assess the effect of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) or graphene oxide (GO) on silica properties. The sol-gel chemistry was based methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) as precursor system, with varying amounts APTMS (0–20% mol Si). significantly impacted materials' physical microstructure investigated by FTIR, NMR, TEM, SEM, SAXS BET. addition CNTs induced growth matrix around them; thus, an elongated shape observed in structural units. have a synergistic mechanical properties, increasing Young's modulus up 14 MPa. Small materials (?1 wt%) MTMS-matrix improved its thermal insulation property, particularly for temperatures above 50 °C. In terms electrochemical nanostructures lead higher specific capacitances reduction resistance. characterizations here performed allowed better understanding interactions between phases. possibility obtain tailored properties demonstrates their application potential several areas, such energy storage.

Nanoelectronics: From carbon nanostructures to 1D and 2D semiconductors beyond graphene*
If graphene had a band gap, it would probably be the optimum 2D system for electronics applications. Layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) with a robust intrinsic band gap appear as the nextbest alternative. Only after a long search, however, optimum strategies have been devised to make lowresistance, ohmic contacts to TMDs [1]. In the meantime, a new class of 2D semiconductors has be...
متن کاملSilica Mineralization of DNA‐Inspired 1D and 2D Supramolecular Polymers
The preparation of hybrid materials from supramolecular polymers through the sol-gel process is presented. Supramolecular polymers are assembled from phosphodiester-linked pyrene oligomers and act as water-soluble one- or two-dimensional templates for silicification. The fibrillary and planar morphologies of the assemblies, as well as the excitonic interactions between the chromophores, remain ...

Aerogels have numerous applications due to their high surface area and low densities. However, creating aerogels from a large variety of materials has remained an outstanding challenge. Here, we report a new methodology to enable aerogel production with a wide range of materials. The method is based on the assembly of anisotropic nano-objects (one-dimensional (1D) nanotubes, nanowires, or two-d...

Flexible photodetectors with excellent flexibility, high mechanical stability and good detectivity, have attracted great research interest in recent years. 1D inorganic nanostructures provide a number of opportunities and capabilities for use in flexible photodetectors as they have unique geometry, good transparency, outstanding mechanical flexibility, and excellent electronic/optoelectronic pr...
متن کاملIntegration of Silica Aerogels in Microfluidic Chips
This paper reports a method to integrate silica aerogels monolithically in microfluidic chips. Silica Aerogel is a highly porous bulk material. The gel was synthesized from tetraethyl orthosilicate by a sol-gel process. Polyethylene glycol and an extended aging period were used to strengthen the matrix minimizing gel shrinkage. This technique allows alcogel structures with high strength and sti...
